Hand Therapy

The hands are involved in all facets of everyday life, from combing your hair, getting dressed, preparing meals to driving around town. It is easy to understand the importance of ensuring their proper and pain-free function. Hand therapy helps a patient regain the maximum use possible of his or her hand after injury, surgery or the onset of disease.

At Petersen Physical Therapy our therapists utilize hands-on, manual skills, multiple treatments, sensory evaluations, custom splinting and exercise. These techniques effectively promote healing and integrate the affected area with the rest of the body. This approach is a critical component in treating the whole person, not just the specific injury. Therapists at Petersen Physical Therapy work one-on-one with the patient to optimize their well being and get them back into the game of life.

Patient Experience

I originally came to therapy for chronic pain in my right upper arm. I felt improvement after my first visit. Gradually, I moved away from heat therapy and concentrated on the physical therapy exercises. I do not have daily pain any longer and have learned exercises I can do on my own to continue my progress.

Bert and all the staff are so friendly, supportive and professional. I will literally miss the therapy sessions! I can’t say enough about how I was treated and the positive atmosphere this office has.
