Jeff Petersen currently treats patients in our Tempe office. He has over 30 years of experience in the physical therapy industry and is actively involved in bettering the business, the association, and the community. He is the founder of Petersen Physical Therapy and has been with the organization since it began in 1992.
Steve Carling, physical therapist, is the owner of Carling Physical Therapy, located in Gilbert near Chandler, and is part of our network of physical therapy providers. His services include aquatic therapy, cold laser, and ASTYM.
He earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Franklin Pierce University in Goodyear, Arizona. Shawn has a strong sports and orthopedic background, as he was a previous NCAA baseball pitcher. As a previous physical therapy intern with the Cleveland Indians, he has also worked with many collegiate and professional athletes. Shawn has a special interest in Manual Orthopedic Physical Therapy. He grew up in Freeport, Illinois, and moved to Arizona for PT school, where he stayed to further his career. In his free time, Shawn enjoys playing softball, baseball, hiking, and spending time with his dog.
Originally from central Illinois Christine graduated from AT Still University in 2005. Since that time she has worked in sports orthopedic as well as pediatric setting. She currently specializes in Postural Restoration and is working towards her certification.
Christine is also a competitive category 2 road and track cyclist. She competes nationally and internationally and is the current 2013 Masters Track Cycling National Champion in the 2000M, points race and team sprint.
In addition Christine volunteers in the Art Masterpiece program for Chandler School District for the 4th and 6th grade where her two children attend school.
Jason Ernst, MS OTR/L is Graston Therapy certified and A.R.T. Certified for the Spine. He completed his undergraduate study in Exercise Science at Arizona State University. He then attended A.T. Still University earning his degree in Occupational Therapy. Jason has been in the therapy field since 2001. Specializing in out patient neurological and orthopedic rehabilitation.
Whitney Bansner, PTA is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in our Maricopa office. She is originally from Illinois, and relocated to Arizona with her husband in 2015. Whitney graduated from Western Illinois University in 2012 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Athletic Training. She has great experience in working with Division 1 College athletes and High School level athletes while working as an Athletic Trainer in the state of Illinois. Whitney continued her education by obtaining her Associate of Applied Science degree in the Physical Therapy Assistant program from Illinois Central College. Given her background Whitney’s passion is orthopedics and sports medicine. Whitney enjoys spending her free time with her family, two dogs, hiking, working out, traveling, and discovering everything the state of Arizona has to offer.
Megan is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in our City of Maricopa office. She is originally from Maryland, and relocated to Arizona with her family in 2004. Megan has been a part of Petersen Physical Therapy family since 2009. She received her Physical Therapist Assistant certificate through Gateway Community College in Phoenix. Megan enjoys working with pediatric population, and has seven years of experience working with children with developmental delays. In her spare time, Megan enjoys spending time with her three children and cheering her son on at many soccer games.
John has worked in the rehabilitation industry for over 16 years and is a Certified Ergonomics Evaluation Specialist. Over the last 8 years he has presented and consults for many professional organizations on ergonomics and work injury and claims prevention.
Robin Wachter has been with Petersen Physical Therapy since March 2004 and has worked as vice president of administration for the past three years. During this time, she has worked to re-build the company’s administrative team.
